Fall/Winter Scents Debut

We will be debuting our fall/winter scents over the next couple weeks. We are introducing some new scents and brining back some of the more popular ones from last year.

Just made available today in Tarts:

• Banana Nut Bread
• Cinnamon
• Pumpkin Bread
• Jack Frost
• Twigs & Berries
• Sugar Cookie
• Mulled Cider

We will be adding a few more and making all the above available for containers over the next couple weeks. Be sure to stop in and check them out.

I would like to thank all those who came to the Octoberfest this past weekend in Lowell, OH to see us. It was a very successful festival, but very hot. We were forced to close early both days because of the heat.

Pine Tree Candles Update

It's been awhile since my last update so let me catch everyone up with what has been going on.

We have been very busy this past weeks with overhauling the website (again). Since our customers are our top priority, I decided to rebuild the site completely. I added some features and removed some others. The same theme is still in use.

List of changes:

• Added Link Exchange area.
• Added Gift Certificates.
• Added Customer Loyalty Discount Program (see FAQs for details).
• Added Events Calendar to Store front.
• Added Catalog RSS Feed.
• Added Candle Information Links to store front.
• Added Clearance Category (all items 40 - 75 percent off).
• Added Estimated Shipping link to shopping cart.
• Added Package Tracking for UPS, USPS, FEDEX, and DHL for anyone.
• Removed Forums.
• Removed Customer Reward Points program.

Some other notable changes:

• Changed the Product Information page to show more information such as Strength of Scent rating & Quantity of item in stock.
• All shipping is now done through either UPS or USPS with a Local Delivery option for our local customers.
• All orders receive 10% off their shipping total on every purchase.
• We now have quantity discounts for certain items.
• Our Newsletter no longer requires site registration.

Still in the works is an Affiliate program and our Wholesale/Fundraiser customers will be getting their own store front.

As you can see we have been very busy behind the scenes. We are also getting ready for our Fall/Winter collection and are really excited about this years choices of scents.

It's been awhile since I have updated the blog. We have been busy preparing for the upcoming Springfest this weekend. If your in the West Virginia or Ohio area, stop by either Saturday or Sunday. We will have show specials available and some other specials that we do not so online.

Besides getting ready for Springfest, I have been working on the website and added a couple new features.

Monthly Candle Contest! Each month we will give away a free candle. To enter, just visit the Pine Tree Candles and look for the Candle Contest announcement on the right side of the page. It cost's nothing to enter and shipping is included.

You can keep track of our products via RSS feed now. Just use your favorite browser and save the feed from the front page of the store. We also have a downloadable catalog in PDF format. It can be accessed from the site under "Information".

With the popularity of our candles increasing we have been getting repeated requests for some kind of affiliate program. I will admit that I'm not a big fan of affiliate programs. To me they fall into the category of get rich quick schemes, however after a lot of research and discussions, we have decided to implement one.

We have decided to go with our own instead of something like Commission Junction. It's currently being setup and we expect to roll it out on May 1st. I will make another post on it once it's out.

We are going to make this as easy as we can for the affiliate. How much you make will be left up to you. We aren't going to place a limit on how much you can make.

In other news...

We have started listing a few items on ebay. We will mostly be listing items we are either removing from inventory and will no longer carry or past season items. Currently we make most of our items to order, however those items listed on ebay will be items that are currently made.

New Scented Candles Available!

Pine Tree Candles has added three new scents to our line of candles:

Strawberry - Smells like freshly picked strawberries with a hint of sugar.
Currently available in 4 oz, 8 oz, and 10 oz containers as well as Scent Throwers.

Mulberry - Smells like the classic scent of mulberries.
Currently available in 4 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz containers as well as Scent Throwers.

Dreamsicle - A mix of orange and Vanilla Cream Popsicle. Smells like the real thing!
Currently available in 4 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz, 10 oz, and 16 oz containers as well as Scent Throwers.

We're sure you will enjoy these awesome scents as much as we do!

New Features Added to Pine Tree Candles

During the past couple days I have added an Event Calendar, Printable Product List, and a Live Help function. I will post the upcoming shows that we will be at on the calendar.

You can now print the entire product list either in page breaks or by one continues list. You can find the links on the stores main page in the "Information" box.

We now offer Live Help to our customers. It will be available Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM est excluding holidays. You may access the Live Help from the store by clicking on the "Live Help" picture on the right side of the screen. On off hours or if connection problems occur you may leave us a message via the Live Help.

One more note before I close....I have added the following scents to our available Scent Throwers: Pine, Cucumber & Melon, and Cappuccino Brulee.

New Scents Have Arrived!

This is more of a personal note than a business note, but the new scents that I ordered have arrived!

I would have to say that my favorite part of making candles is trying out and testing new scents for our candle line. All I can say so far is the scent right out of the bottle is awesome on some of them. After doing this for several years though you come to understand that is doesn't always retain the same scent once added to the wax.

Buying scent online from a manufacturer is like buying a candle online; you make the judgment based on a description and maybe a picture. So those of you who purchase our candles, I know how it is to buy something site unseen. This is why we seek out and find the best possible sources for what goes into our candles and test, test ,test!

The new scents I'm testing right now are:

Fresh and Clean
Honeysuckel (Different manufacturer)
Patchouli Retreat
Berry Peach
Strawberry
Dreamsicle (Different manufacturer)
Kiwi Raspberry
Wild Watermelon

Not sure which of these, if any, will make the cut. Those that do, you can expect to see them debut sometime next month. I always try to get any new scents added to the beginning of the month, but it doesn't always workout that way.

Time to get testing and I will be adding two new tart scents today. Just needed to get the pictures formated to put online.

Spring collection on the way!

Pine Tree Candles spring collection is in the making! We are currently testing several new scents for our spring line up of candles and expect them to be available next month.

We are also adding a new 10oz container to our line. Candles in this Square Footed container will be available starting May 2007.
